Kim Hee-won and Park Jin-mo, students of Jung Ji-seon from KBS2 "Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears," have applied for a cooking survival program, throwing a bold challenge to Jung Ji-seon.
KBS 2TV "Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears" (directed by Ahn Sang-eun, hereinafter "Boss's Ears") is a program for voluntary perspective-taking and self-reflection of bosses in South Korea to create a workplace where people enjoy working. In the last episode, it recorded a national rating of 5.3%, with a peak rating of 6.9%, maintaining its position at No. 1 among entertainment programs in the same time slot for 144 consecutive weeks, according to Nielsen Korea.
Today (9th), in the 145th episode airing, Boss Jung Ji-seon visits the home of Kim Hee-won, who has taken sick leave. Without caring for the surprised Hee-won, Jung Ji-seon instantly makes a meal with leftover ingredients to take care of his student. He then abruptly asks, "Is there anything you're hiding from me?" catching Hee-won off guard. Eventually, Hee-won confesses that he submitted an application for the cooking survival program "Black and White Chef 2" and that Park Jin-mo also applied together, which ignites Jung Ji-seon's anger.
In response, Jung Ji-seon, who headed to Park Jin-mo's store, said, "This won't do. Let's go catch them," and reportedly exploded with anger again upon checking their applications and cooking videos. After seeing Hee-won's application, which listed Jung Ji-seon as his favorite chef, Jung Ji-seon displayed a satisfied smile for a moment before commenting, "Others will know I'm your mentor, so why didn't you tell me?" showing ongoing resentment. He then silences Hee-won, who stated that he wants to meet many people and build connections for his motivation, by pointing out, "This can be done through the association."
Particularly, after watching the application video featuring the cooking process, Jung Ji-seon expressed anger, asking, "Is this a video?" Jeon Hyun-moo, meanwhile, remarked, "Isn't this CCTV?" and advised that one should highlight their strengths like a short form, evoking sympathy. He then noted, "Many excellent Chinese chefs appeared in Season 1," and added, "But this dish wasn't included. I'll show you this," presenting an impromptu introduction video that earned applause from everyone.
With the encouragement of mentor Jung Ji-seon and Jeon Hyun-moo, Kim Hee-won and Park Jin-mo, motivated and renewed in spirit, will participate in the application for "Black and White Chef 2"; whether they can join the survival program after their mentor Jung Ji-seon will be revealed through the main broadcast of "Boss's Ears."
