The release of the group Seventeen's new special unit Hoshi X Woozi's single album 'BEAM' is just three days away. They revealed their anticipation for the activity, saying, "It felt like returning to childhood while preparing for the album."
Pledis Entertainment posted nine interviews titled 'BEAM: Spotlight on HxW' on Seventeen's official YouTube channel and social media at 9:06 p.m. on the 7th. It contains videos of Hoshi X Woozi's candid thoughts and messages from their colleagues ahead of the new album's release.
In the interview, Hoshi X Woozi mentioned, "While watching senior GD X TAEYANG, we often said, 'Let's perform on a stage like that.' So it feels refreshing and makes me ambitious," expressing their thoughts on the release of 'BEAM'. They also shared, "It's an album we prepared with fun. It feels like going back to the time when we enjoyed following along with our favorite stages," and imagined, "If we continue as we are now, I think more enjoyable things will happen in the future."
The album title signifies the light emanating from Hoshi X Woozi. Hoshi stated, "For me, 'BEAM' was a dream, and now it has become CARAT (the fandom name). I want to do well as much as CARAT expects and release a good album as much as they believe in me." Woozi expressed, "I feel (my inner light) comes out whenever I feel needed by others," showcasing his strong demeanor as a producer of Seventeen's albums.
The 'genuine friendship chemistry' between Hoshi X Woozi, who are friends since 1996, was also evident. Hoshi left a heartfelt message to Woozi, saying, "I want to continue having fun making music like this." Woozi remarked, "Hoshi is a friend who showcases the most ideal superstar image, so I hope he flies higher and farther in the future," adding, "I will be someone who helps him whenever he finds himself," evoking a heartfelt emotion.
Team members who have watched Hoshi X Woozi for a long time praised the two members, saying they "ignite passion" (Wonwoo), are "indispensable to Seventeen" (Dohyon), and are "the energy of the team" (Dino). Choi Young-jun, the choreographer who has worked with Seventeen since their debut, and singer-songwriter-producer Bumzu, who has created numerous hit songs with them, also praised, saying, "Hoshi is like a cartoon character who becomes stronger as he gets into danger," and "Woozi is always thinking about something. It always returns as a creative result."
Hoshi X Woozi will release 'BEAM' on the 10th, stepping up as the 'representatives of the 96 line.' The album includes three tracks, including the title song 'Classmates,' in which the two participated in writing and composing. They are set to sequentially release two music video teasers today (the 8th) and tomorrow (the 9th) to heighten expectations.
Hoshi X Woozi are scheduled to appear on music shows such as Mnet's 'M Countdown' on the 13th and KBS2's 'Music Bank' on the 14th to showcase their new song. Additionally, various content will reach fans. A special video teaser and the main content will be unveiled sequentially from the 11th to the 12th. From the 11th to the 16th, a popup store celebrating the release of 'BEAM' will open on the 5th floor of Hyundai Department Store in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
