Actors from 'Victory' have made explosive accusations against director Kim Hyung-joo.
On the 7th, during the production presentation of the film 'Victory' at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul, Lee Byung-hun, Ko Chang-seok, Hyeon Bong-sik, Moon Jung-hee, Jo Woo-jin, and director Kim Hyung-joo attended.
The movie 'Victory' (directed by Kim Hyung-joo, distributed by Vipoem Studio Co., Ltd., produced by Film Company Wolgwang Co., Ltd., co-produced by BH Entertainment) tells the story of the greatest Go legend in South Korea, Cho Hun-hyun (Lee Byung-hun), who challenges the top position once again after losing to his disciple Lee Chang-ho (played by Yoo Ah-in) with his innate competitive spirit.
On that day, when asked about the chemistry with director Kim Hyung-joo, who is known as a member of Yoon Jong-bin's crew, Hyeon Bong-sik said, "It was a short role, but I did work on 'Sheriff' together. I think I was scolded and criticized the most during filming," which drew laughter.
He continued, "The director was very particular about the work and had a clear vision. While I acted somewhat freely, the director had a precise picture, providing accurate direction. I managed to get approval and came this far. Nevertheless, the director made it comfortable on set and provided direction easily."
In response, director Kim explained, "There seems to be a lot of misunderstandings. I remember thinking they looked tense, so I tried to ease the tension by talking."
Then, the accusations against director Kim continued. Ko Chang-seok said, "During a tightly scheduled day, the director was so ill that he had to go to the hospital. We couldn't finish the remaining scenes, but director Yoon Jong-bin was there and wrapped it up. Later, I asked director Kim, 'How was the footage that director Yoon shot? Did it connect well?' He replied, 'Ah, there's nothing to use. It's usable.'"
In response, director Kim said, "As I recall, it was about 200 shots. I also later went to shoot B for 'Suriname,' doing it through mutual work. There wasn't much to use compared to the amount we filmed, but I really liked it," but Lee Byung-hun added, "I recalled the story when Ko Chang-seok mentioned it. I also remember what the director said, that there wasn't much to use. I suddenly thought, 'What is the relationship between these two?'" which added to the laughter.
