The album 'Ruby,' which embodies global artist Jennie, has unveiled its true self.
At midnight on the 7th (Korea time), Jennie's first solo studio album 'Ruby' was released on various music sites. 'Ruby' includes a total of 15 tracks across various genres, including the title track 'like JENNIE,' and Jennie took on the album's production herself, capturing her identity and limitless musical possibilities.
Jennie said, "This album has great significance in that it tells my story as a solo artist with my own voice and perspective. Inspired by Shakespeare's play 'As You Like It,' it contains themes of birth, love, belief, and peaks. Opening the curtain of the theater symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in my music life. Working on this album was a precious process of growing as an artist and finding my true voice."
'Ruby' includes 'Intro: JANE with FKJ,' 'like JENNIE,' 'start a war,' 'Handlebars (feat. Dua Lipa),' 'with the IE (way up),' 'ExtraL (feat. Doechii),' 'Mantra,' 'Love Hangover (feat. Dominic Fike),' 'ZEN,' 'Damn Right (feat. Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis),' 'F.T.S.,' 'Filter,' 'Seoul City,' 'Starlight,' and 'twin,' allowing listeners to feel Jennie's unique musical color.
In particular, collaboration tracks with global artists such as Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis are also included, garnering explosive reactions from global music fans.
The physical album includes the 'JENNIE Only Audio' version. 'JENNIE Only Audio' is a version that does not include featuring artists, composed entirely of tracks where all vocals are delivered solely by Jennie, making it a special gift for fans.
Meanwhile, the music video for the title track 'like JENNIE' will be released today (7th) at 2 p.m., and until the 13th, a pop-up event 'Rubify' will be held at the Hyundai Card Music Library & Vinyl and Plastic in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where fans can experience Jennie's first solo studio album 'Ruby.'
