Japanese boy group 'One N' Only' member Kaminura Kenshin (26) has been charged with obscene assault in Hong Kong.
On the 5th (local time), according to foreign media including the Hong Kong South China Morning Post (SCMP), Hong Kong police arrested Kaminura Kenshin after receiving a report that he had been sexually assaulted by a man in a restaurant on Portland Street in Mong Kok on the night of the 2nd. Kaminura had attended his first overseas fan meeting held in Hong Kong's East Dongdong with actor Motojima Junsei, who co-stars in the drama 'Minor.' He was scheduled to continue his Asia tour in Thailand, Osaka, and Tokyo.
The incident occurred when Kaminura went to a restaurant with staff, including the victim who had served as an interpreter, after the fan meeting. The victim and Kaminura reportedly met for the first time on the day of the fan meeting. Kaminura was charged after being arrested in Tsim Sha Tsui on the 2nd and appeared in local court on the 4th on the sexual assault charge.
The next hearing is scheduled for April 15. This case is being handled by a Mong Kok regional investigation team and is currently under investigation. According to Hong Kong law, a conviction for sexual assault can result in a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
In response to the news, Kaminura's agency Stardust noted, "Due to the serious violation of regulations by Kaminura, we are informing you that he has withdrawn from the group and his contract has ended as of the 4th." They continued, "We apologize to fans and those involved for the sudden announcement, and in the future, 'One N' Only' will continue to operate as a five-member group, and the schedule for performances in Japan will proceed as planned." The events in Osaka, Japan, scheduled for April and the fan meeting in Tokyo in May have been canceled due to this incident.
