Taiwanese actor Wang Dalu was arrested for attempted murder following allegations of evading military service and was released after posting approximately 200 million won in bail.
According to reports from Taiwanese media such as ETtoday on the 5th (local time), Wang Dalu was released after posting a bail of 5 million New Taiwan dollars (approximately 220 million won) at the New Taipei District Court.
At the time of his release, Wang Dalu remained silent in response to reporters' questions, but was captured smiling, leading to criticism.
Previously, in April of last year, Wang Dalu called for an airport pickup vehicle through an app, but after being dissatisfied with the driver, he had a conflict with them. He then left personal belongings in the car, leading to another incident. Subsequently, Wang Dalu harbored resentment towards the driver and informed a friend who was the scion of a conglomerate about it. He then mobilized individuals to assault the driver and the dispatcher.
Not only did Wang Dalu hit the two individuals, but he is also reported to have filmed the assault. This fact was uncovered by police who seized Wang Dalu's mobile phone as evidence while investigating allegations of evading military service.
According to numerous Taiwanese media reports, Wang Dalu has been classified as a 'bad celebrity' due to this incident and is facing the risk of being expelled from the Chinese entertainment industry.
If designated as a 'bad celebrity' by authorities, acting activities could be completely banned, and all works he has appeared in could be deleted. Currently, Wang Dalu has five upcoming works. Consequently, there is a high possibility that the works featuring Wang Dalu will either be unable to be released or will incur massive expenses for reshooting.
