Former MBC announcer Kim Dae-ho has raised his value after declaring himself a freelance broadcaster, while his family appears to have given up on his marriage.
On the 4th, during the broadcast of tvN story 'Kim Chang-ok Show 3,' Kim Dae-ho's younger brother Kim Seong-ho, who appeared as a story participant, expressed his concerns, saying, "I have been satisfied living alone, but I feel a sudden loneliness as I reach forty. What will happen if I continue to live like this and become a lonely elderly person?"
His older brother, who is 2 years older, has also not married. The younger brother, who revealed he is Kim Dae-ho, lamented that he feels the pressure to marry instead of his older brother, who is living well without thoughts of marriage. "I thought I could hide behind my brother. My father doesn't say much, but my mother often talks about marriage since she's hearing news of marriages around her," he shared.
Kim Dae-ho began his broadcasting career as an MBC announcer after being selected in the final round of the MBC audition program 'Our Night - New Employee' in 2011. In 2023, he garnered a strong response by showcasing his down-to-earth daily life on YouTube channels such as 'No News,' and on the strength of this, he secured fixed grants on programs like 'I Live Alone' and 'Homemates,' establishing himself as a representative face of MBC.
He officially declared his resignation and freelance status last month. Currently, he has signed an exclusive contract with One Hundred, which includes Lee Seung-gi, Lee Soo-geun, Taemin, and Chen Baek-chi. Kim Dae-ho, who dreamed of early retirement and craved the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) lifestyle, has opened the second chapter of his life while freely enjoying broadcasting activities. For his family watching over him, 'Kim Dae-ho's marriage' has become a more distant topic.
Seeing his second son, who seems to have gotten used to living alone since his college days, his father expressed, "I feel frustrated that neither of you is getting married. I thought you would both marry by age 35 at the latest. I used to insist that you should get married, but I find myself reconsidering whether marriage is really necessary from a parent's perspective."
Kim Dae-ho's mother also revealed, "It seems like his younger brother will get married first. As everyone knows, the eldest is, well. But isn't it an era where you don't get married just because your parents say so? However, if you're not a supporter of single life, I hope you marry before you get older." Given that Kim Dae-ho is remodeling his house next door to enjoy a larger solo life, the marriage baton has naturally passed to his second son.
In this regard, Kim Dae-ho's brother smiled awkwardly while watching their father publicly seek a match for his second son, saying, "Please contact me if you find my son appealing. The heart is something you feel as you live."
