A youth fantasy romance that must be seen in April, the Tving original series "One Week Before I Die" is coming.
The Tving original series "One Week Before I Die," which will be released on April 3 (produced by CJ ENM and Studio Mondo, provided by Tving), revealed a teaser trailer and teaser poster on the 5th, raising excitement with a page of memories of Ramwoo (played by Gongmyung) and Heewan (played by Kim Minha).
"One Week Before I Die" is a youth fantasy romance in which Ramwoo, the first love, appears before Heewan, who is wasting away her youth with her back to the world, becoming a grim reaper. Based on the beloved novel of the same name (by Seo Eunchae), the story unfolds over a sparkling week, intertwining an exciting past with a drastically changed present. Director Noh Deok, who has showcased his unique style from films like "Temperature of Love" and "The True Story of the Monster", is the creator, while director Kim Hye-young, known for the film "It's Okay, It's Okay!" and the drama "Melting Me Softly," helms the series, exciting drama fans. Most of all, there is great anticipation for the solid lineup led by Gongmyung, Kim Minha, Jung Geon-joo, Oh Wooli, Ko Chang-seok, and Seo Young-hee.
Last year, "One Week Before I Die," which was invited to the Busan International Film Festival's "On Screen" segment and received a warm response, has confirmed its scheduling for April 3. The teaser poster and trailer released that day sparked even hotter expectations. First, a teaser poster reflecting the sweet excitement of first love catches the eye. The fresh smiles of Ramwoo and Heewan in school uniforms evoke a sense of nostalgia. The phrase "Our story, like a lie that started as an April Fool's joke," written above, and the memory of the two swapping name tags tease curiosity.
The story of Ramwoo and Heewan shines even more in the teaser trailer released alongside it. Heewan turns her head at the call of a friend calling for Ramwoo. Unlike the reluctant Ramwoo, Heewan seems earnest in this playful deed. During gym class, Heewan playfully pushes Ramwoo and runs to kick the ball, saying, "I am Kim Ramwoo!" adding more laughter. To that Heewan, Tae-gyeong (played by Oh Wooli) slyly asks, "Do you like Kim Ramwoo?" to which Heewan lets out a dreamy smile at the unexpected question.
The quiet Ramwoo soon gets swept up by the lively Heewan. The four become "close friends" with Hongseok (played by Jung Geon-joo) and Tae-gyeong. As Ramwoo narrates, "It's a good thing to find something you like," the happy moments of youth flow. However, the situation soon takes a turn. Heewan's changed appearance, lying apathetically in a dark room, suggests a troubling change. The one who visits Heewan is Ramwoo, who passed away four years ago. Ramwoo appears before the surprised Heewan, saying, "I came to tell you something I have to say," raising anticipation for the unpredictable story that will unfold.
Gongmyung plays "Ramwoo," who reappears as a grim reaper in front of his first love. The role of the lively Heewan, who transforms the quiet and introverted Ramwoo, is played by Kim Minha, who is loved for her fresh charm and stable acting. The two are expected to unfold a splendid and beautiful youth story by crossing the timeline of Ramwoo and Heewan, delicately portraying the changing emotions of the characters as time passes, and attention is focused on the chemistry between Gongmyung and Kim Minha that evokes memories of first love.
Meanwhile, the Tving original series "One Week Before I Die" will release Episodes 1 and 2 on April 3 (Thursday) on Tving.
