On the 5th, tvN stated, 'The drama 'Signal,' which received great love from viewers, is returning as 'The Second Signal.' We are entering full-scale production with the goal of airing in the first half of next year, the 20th anniversary of tvN's founding,' increasing anticipation.
The drama 'Signal,' broadcast in 2016, is a crime investigation story where detectives from the present and the past are connected by an urgent signal (walkie-talkie) from the past, digging up old unsolved cases again. It received high praise for its unique material that resolves long-term unsolved cases through a walkie-talkie connecting the past and present, the intense narrative of the desperation of the past and present detectives solving unsolved cases, and memorable lines such as 'The past can be changed. Don't give up.' Consequently, the final episode of 'Signal' recorded an average rating of 13.4% and a highest rating of 15%, marking its own highest ratings and is still regarded as a legendary drama that made a mark in Korean drama history. Amid this, the tvN 'The Second Signal,' scheduled to air in the first half of next year (screenplay by Kim Eun-hee/directed by Ahn Tae-jin/planned by Studio Dragon/produced by Baram Pictures and BN Entertainment), will reunite the cast, including Kim Hye-soo as 'Cha Soo-hyun,' a detective in charge of long-term unsolved cases, Jo Jin-woong as 'Lee Jae-han,' a violent crimes detective, and Lee Jay-hoon as 'Park Hae-young,' a profiler in the long-term unsolved cases team.
Additionally, writer Kim Eun-hee has taken on the screenplay after the previous work, and director Ahn Tae-jin, who wrote and directed the film 'The Owl,' will take the helm, signaling a new revival of a high-quality time-slip investigation drama.
