Singer and actor Hwang Min-hyun shared his thoughts on finishing the 'Study Group.'
Pledis Entertainment posted behind-the-scenes footage from the final shooting of the Tving original drama 'Study Group' (directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang, written by Yeom Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by YLAB) on Hwang Min-hyun's official YouTube channel on the afternoon of the 4th.
Hwang Min-hyun expressed in a video recorded during the drama shoot, "It was a wonderful opportunity to work on the action genre that I wanted to do, so I was very excited and started with a joyful heart," adding, "I am confident that a good result will come from the effort I put in." He continued, "Above all, I am grateful for the opportunity to work with good staff and actors, including the director."
Hwang Min-hyun displayed professionalism during the final shoot, which took place in below-freezing weather, fully immersing himself in the work. Despite the cold causing his ears to redden, he received the OK sign on the first take with remarkable concentration. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for the surprise tea trunk event prepared by the staff, ending the final shoot on a meaningful note.
Hwang Min-hyun delivered a stellar performance as the lead character Yoon Ga-min in 'Study Group,' setting a so-called 'life character' record. He showed a 100% synchronization rate with the original webtoon character while showcasing a wide acting spectrum that seamlessly transitioned between hyper action and subtle emotions, garnering enthusiastic responses from viewers.
Meanwhile, 'Study Group' continues to generate buzz even after its conclusion. It has received praise such as 'a refreshing school action drama after a long time,' 'the rediscovery of Hwang Min-hyun,' and 'blowing away the stress,' as well as word-of-mouth acclaim, topping the list of paid subscribers on Tving for five consecutive weeks.
Previously, this work has proven its global popularity by ranking 1st and 2nd in major countries worldwide through the global OTT Rakuten Viki and the pan-Asian OTT Viu.
