Broadcaster Bae Seung-jae, who is a former announcer, announced his participation in a new entertainment program ahead of his wedding with announcer Kim Da-young in May.
The MBN 30th anniversary special project 'Running to Live' (hereinafter referred to as 'Running') features stars from various fields, each carrying their earnest stories, as they take on their first marathon to overcome their wounds and limitations.
'Running to Live,' a brutal self-growth story for beginner runners, is set to premiere on April 19, and Sean, known as the 'marathon donation angel,' along with Lee Yong-pyo, has been appointed as the leaders of the 16 running beginners and the 'Running Crew.' Additionally, Bae Seung-jae and Yang Se-hyung will serve as hosts to relay the marathon challenges of the 'Running Crew.'
In particular, Sean and Lee Yong-pyo have been active together in the entertainment running crew 'Unknown Crew' and have participated in numerous marathon events, as well as leading efforts for 'donations through marathons.' They express their ambition to provide full support for the marathon completion of the 'Running Crew,' while also engaging in a 'charity marathon' together, distinct from the previous 'Running Crew.' Bae Seung-jae and Yang Se-chan also intend not only to host the marathon coverage but also to train alongside the 'Running Crew' to inspire them with positive energy.
For the preparation of the marathon event, former national marathon athlete Kwon Eun-joo, who also served as a field director for the film '1947 Boston,' has taken on the role of director for the 'Running Crew.' Sports coaches include Lee Yeon-jin, the winner of the Chuncheon Marathon, as a tactical coach, Ko Han-min, the record-holder for the celebrity marathon, as a pacemaker coach, and Shim U-deum, the top fitness creator in the country, as a fitness coach.
The production team noted, 'The brutal race of beginner runners, 'Running to Live,' captures the growth stories of 16 running beginners who earnestly challenged themselves to run marathons. The process of overcoming their wounds and limitations through marathons will resonate deeply with viewers.'
They added, 'As much as the 'Running Crew' runs, the donation amount will accumulate, and this will later be delivered to meaningful places. Furthermore, the final MVP will receive an opportunity to participate in one of the world's seven major marathons along with a prize of 20 million won worth of carbon credits.
