Actress Kwon Yoori showcased her 'thriller enthusiast' side.
On the 5th at Seoul CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, a press screening and media conference for the movie 'Invasion' (script/direction Kim Yeo-jung and Lee Jeong-chan, provided/distributed by Studio Santa Claus Entertainment, co-produced by Blue Fire Studio) took place, with actors Kwak Sun-young, Kwon Yoori, Lee Seol, and directors Kim Yeo-jung and Lee Jeong-chan in attendance.
The movie 'Invasion' is a psychological destruction thriller that depicts the cracks arising when Young-eun (Kwak Sun-young), whose daily life is collapsing due to her daughter's (So-hyun) bizarre behavior, encounters Min (Kwon Yoori), who has lost her memories from 20 years ago, and Hae-young (Lee Seol).
On that day, Kwon Yoori shared, 'The script was so interesting, and since it was based on a webtoon, it felt like there was a storyboard in advance. That helped in solidifying those aspects. During pre-production, I met often with actor Lee Seol, and we practiced as if we were preparing for a play, even coordinating our movements.'
Regarding her feelings about challenging herself with her first thriller genre, she noted, 'I really like thrillers; I love psychology, destruction, pursuit, and mystery. I watch 'I Want to Know That' every day, without fail. Looking into those issues or articles and subscribing to channels is my hobby.'
She added, 'Among film genres, I like the ones that provide immersion until the end the most. Not the ones that surprise you or have ghosts, but those that involve reasoning and tracking that create tension. I really love those genres, and I'm happy to be able to work as a character within that genre.'
