'Heosikdang' has unveiled character posters featuring the four main stars with unique personalities.
The new drama 'Heosikdang' (written by Seong So-hyun, directed by Oh Hwan-min and Kim Kyung-eun) is a fantasy comedy romance that follows the problematic historical figure Heo Gyun from the Joseon Dynasty as he inadvertently ends up running a restaurant in modern times, 400 years later, based on the web novel of the same name (author Jeon Seon-young).
The character posters released on the 5th capture the diverse personalities and charms of the main cast including EXO's Si-woon (Heo Gyun), Choo So-jung (Bong Eun-sil), Lee Se-eon (Lee Yi-cheom/Lee Hyuk), and Lee Su-min (Mae-chang/Jeong Mi-sol). Each character's vibrant individuality is maximized with a sensory palette, sparking intrigue.
First, Si-woon in a traditional hanbok has perfectly immersed himself in the role of Heo Gyun, who accidentally time slips from the Joseon Dynasty to modern times. Heo Gyun, bewildered by the sudden change in his environment, seems curious and cheerful, as expressed in the phrase, 'Where on earth am I?!' As exciting time slips between the Joseon Dynasty and modern times are previewed, anticipation grows daily for Heo Gyun's adaptation to contemporary life, which is unpredictable.
Choo So-jung, playing Bong Eun-sil, the daughter of a restaurant without a sign, draws attention with a determined expression while holding a tray. A strict realist when it comes to money, Eun-sil has become the manager of her mother's restaurant and has hired Heo Gyun as the head chef. Her assertive line, 'Let's do this together! Let's run this restaurant together!' reveals her firm resolve, raising curiosity about whether the naturally poor cook Eun-sil can successfully manage the restaurant with Heo Gyun.
On the other hand, Lee Se-eon, impressively taking on dual roles as the goal-oriented character Lee Yi-cheom and the youngest master of Korean cuisine, Lee Hyuk, captivates with an intense gaze. The phrase, 'The mere existence is a nuisance. That restaurant!' hints at his grand ambition to achieve his desires, willingness to use any means necessary. For him, cooking is just a means to gain wealth and fame, as the actions of the shadowy chef draw attention.
Lee Su-min, in the role of Jeong Mi-sol, a CF star with a hidden secret, draws eyes with an aloof smile and confident gestures. The line she shares, 'I'm the CF fairy Jeong Mi-sol! I've been one since I was 5!' showcases her bold charm. The character description as 'the controversial eating-show actress' adds to the intrigue surrounding Mi-sol's complex narrative. She is also expected to shine in the role of Mae-chang, possessing both beauty and the temperament of a talented performer.
'Heosikdang' announces the birth of a delicious quartet featuring Si-woon, Choo So-jung, Lee Se-eon, and Lee Su-min. As these charming actors collaborate, there is heightened anticipation for the strong synergy that 'Heosikdang' will deliver.
Meanwhile, 'Heosikdang' is co-planned by Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures and Corpus Japan, and is set to premiere on the 24th.
