In KBS2's 'The Return of Superman,' Jang Dong-min and Ji-woo engage in a battle over smelt sashimi, raising curiosity about the background.
Today (5th) at 8:30 p.m., the 563rd episode of 'Superman is Back' titled 'I will protect you forever' will feature the three MCs Park Soo-hong, Choi Ji-woo, and Ahn Young-mi along with Superman Kim Jun-ho and Jang Dong-min. Among them, Jang Dong-min and Ji-woo enjoy ice fishing, the highlight of winter leisure, on a frozen lake surrounded by ice like a winter kingdom. Ji-woo is said to be challenging her first-ever ice experience and ice fishing, which heightens interest in the 'father-daughter' smelt festival.
On this day, 32-month-old Ji-woo enters the ice with excitement about meeting her smelt friends. Ji-woo puts the fishing rod into the ice hole and gently shakes it while sweetly calling out, "Let's have lunch, smelts~" However, as no smelts are caught on Ji-woo's fishing rod, she, who has been waiting endlessly, lets out a small sigh and jokes, "At this rate, we’ll become smelts ourselves," causing a burst of laughter. For a moment, Ji-woo clenches her fists and ignites her determination to meet her smelt friends again, eliciting a joyful smile.
Meanwhile, Ji-woo, who has always shown extraordinary affinity for animals, names the smelt "My friend, Bingsoon" and introduces it, showcasing her unconditional love for animals. Ji-woo looks at the smelt and says, "It’s waving its tail softly," expressing her pure heart by thinking the smelt swimming is greeting her. She even kisses the smelt and gently pats it, further solidifying their bond as best friends, which evokes warmth.
During this, Ji-woo catches attention by having a tense disagreement with her father Jang Dong-min over the smelt. As Jang Dong-min looks at the smelt and says, "Can I eat one, Dad? I brought dipping sauce too," Ji-woo, who usually displays a unique bond with animals, shows her unconditional love for the smelt as well.
Ji-woo firmly exclaims, "You can't eat living ones," and hurriedly closes the lid of the container with the smelts inside, hiding it behind her body as she makes an effort to protect the smelts. This raises curiosity about how the 'smelt sashimi war' between the father and daughter, each wanting to protect the smelt for different reasons, will conclude, while anticipation grows for the main broadcast of 'Superman is Back,' capturing Ji-woo's loving nature towards smelts.
