Singer Lee Seung-hwan responded with "a warm welcome" as he revealed a complaint against him on suspicion of document forgery.
On 3rd, Lee Seung-hwan posted a photo of the complaint on his Instagram along with the caption "Complaints are warmly welcome!" The complaint, submitted under the name of the Maryland Law Review Institute, accused Lee Seung-hwan of document forgery and fraud. The criminal facts noted, "Suspect Lee Seung-hwan committed crimes such as forging or altering official documents related to his travel records in the United States around Feb. 21, 2025. Therefore, please conduct a thorough investigation and impose strict penalties."
Lee Seung-hwan noted that he was not denied entry into the United States by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) while he was there last month for his nephew's wedding. This remark targeted rumors that celebrities supporting President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment had been reported to the CIA, resulting in bans on their entry into the U.S. However, some YouTubers later raised suspicions about manipulated photos, claiming there were no photos from his nephew's wedding or pictures taken with guests, asserting that his entry into the United States was also false.
In response, Lee Seung-hwan released a video on the 19th of last month from a YouTuber who asked, "Hey, Seung-hwan, want to bet?" He said he would accept the offer and shared documents containing his entry and exit records. He remarked, "When did I say I went to the moon?" and added, "If you look closely at the entry and exit records and still doubt, don't just hide behind anonymity to mumble—go ahead and accuse me of document forgery."
