Rising rocker Macha transformed into the independence activist Yeo Woon-hyung through a long mustache costume.
On the 1st, Macha made a surprise appearance in the special MBC program commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation, titled "Memory and Record" Season 2, Episode "The Beginning of the Democratic Republic, Jo So-ang," leading to questions about Macha's grants from fans.
The broadcast depicted 29 representatives of regional independence activists who, scattered around the world denoting different paths, gathered in Shanghai, China, culminating in the first provisional assembly.
It was confirmed that Macha took on the role of Yeo Woon-hyung, the representative of the Shanghai Sinhan Youth Party, who appeared at meetings alongside Jo So-ang, Lee Dong-nyeong, Hyeon Soon, Lee Geun-woo, Shin Chae-ho, and Shin Seok-woo. Fans expressed great interest in Macha's appearance with a thick mustache.
Through the first provisional assembly, the name of the nation was determined as the Republic of Korea, alongside the Republic of Joseon, the Republic of Goryeo, and the New Korean Republic. The moment captured on air when the provisional constitution of the Republic of Korea enshrined Jo So-ang's thoughts and ideals with the first article stating, "The Republic of Korea is a democratic republic," moved viewers as it marked the first time in 5,000 years of history that the people became the owners of the country.
Meanwhile, Macha released a new album, "Millennium Rock," in February and has been actively performing the title track, "Love is Over." With a powerful 4-octave F# vocal range, Macha gained attention while appearing on various broadcasting channels, including the YouTube program "Jamgol Bus," solidifying the image as a promising rising rocker.
In March, Macha is set to continuously appear on radio broadcasts to showcase impressive high notes and has been invited to perform a passionate stage at the "Hallyu Korea-Philippines Cultural Exchange Festival" held in Paksanjan, Philippines.
A representative from the agency Nanum Entertainment noted, "Since we released the new title track 'Love is Over' in both Korean and Chinese versions, we plan to expand Macha's activities in China in the future," adding, "We will prepare various repertoires that will resonate with fans and deliver the emotions and joy of K-rock."
