Director Bong Joon Ho confessed that he learned the K-Heart from Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson.
On the 4th, a video titled 'Bong Joon Ho: The Puppy Interview' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'BuzzFeed Celeb'.
In January, Robert Pattinson made his first visit to Korea ahead of the release of 'Mickey 17', and Director Bong revealed, "Robert Pattinson taught me the K-Heart. Since I was dazed, he said, 'Do it like this.' I wondered, 'Where did he learn this?'"
He continued, "The two of us ate tteokbokki in Korea. He handled spicy food well," and recalled, "In the past, when Director Quentin Tarantino came to Korea, he ate fermented skate. It wasn't because I suggested it; he said he wanted to try it. He boasted about his knowledge of Korean cinema, music, and food while eating. I advised against it, but he ended up eating it."
Moreover, Director Bong noted, "This time, Robert Pattinson ate very spicy tteokbokki. It wasn't easy even for Koreans, but he handled it well."
Meanwhile, Director Bong Joon Ho is garnering the attention of film fans worldwide with his new film 'Mickey 17'. It premiered on the 28th of last month in Korea, and within 4 days, it surpassed 1 million viewers and is showing strong box office performance.
'Mickey 17' (screenplay and directed by Bong Joon Ho, produced by Plan B Entertainment, distributed by Warner Bros. Korea Co., Ltd.) features expendable individuals deployed for dangerous tasks, and as Mickey (played by Robert Pattinson) faces his 17th death crisis before being printed again, a new version, Mickey 18 (also played by Robert Pattinson), is created, leading to unpredictable events. Based on the science fiction novel 'Mickey 7' by American author Edward Ashton, Director Bong adapted it and wrote the screenplay. This new film marks his first release in six years since winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes and four Academy Awards for 'Parasite', and it is his third overseas project following 'Okja' and 'Snowpiercer'.
