In the movie 'Lobby', Cha Joo-young mentioned her rapport with Choi Si-won, who she met as her ex-boyfriend.
On the morning of the 4th, a production briefing for the movie 'Lobby' was held at Lotte Cinema in Konkuk University. Attendees included the lead actor and director Ha Jung-woo, along with Kim Ui-sung, Kang Hae-rim, Lee Dong-hwi, Park Byeong-eun, Choi Si-won, Cha Joo-young, Kwak Sun-young, and Kang Mal-geum.
'Lobby' (directed by Ha Jung-woo, produced by Workhouse Company and Film Momentum, supplied by Michigan Venture Capital and WYSIWYG STUDIOS, distributed by SHOWBOX) depicts the story of Chang-wook (Ha Jung-woo), a startup representative who knows only research, starting his first lobbying golf game to win a 4 trillion won national project. After making his directing debut with 'Roller Coaster' in 2013 and following it with 'Heo Sam-gwan' in 2015, Ha Jung-woo released his third directorial work after 10 years.
In the film, Ha Jung-woo plays Chang-wook, a startup representative who only knows research and wants to win solely with technology; Park Byeong-eun portrays the rival company head, Kwang-woo, who secures business through lobbying; Kim Ui-sung plays Choi, a veteran civil servant and political heavyweight; Kang Hae-rim plays Jin, a professional golfer; Lee Dong-hwi portrays Reporter Park, who facilitates lobbying; Choi Si-won takes on the role of the national actor Joo-tae; Cha Joo-young plays the golf club's lady, Dami; Kwak Sun-young acts as Secretary Kim, who assists Chang-wook; and Kang Mal-geum portrays Secretary Cho, who has little interest in practical matters but has big ambitions.
Making her big-screen debut in 'Lobby', Cha Joo-young said, "I sincerely feel honored to work with such a wonderful director and senior actor for my first film debut." She added, "Among the characters I've played so far, this one is the most relaxed and disheveled. They packaged it as elegance, but after meeting the 'Ex-boyfriend' and living with a controlling husband, I will show a new side of myself as I flounder in that situation."
Regarding her rapport with Choi Si-won, she stated, "I approached it with the mindset of visiting the site for the first time while acting. Just watching him perform was a huge help and a joy. I would also like to meet him again in another project."
Choi Si-won expressed his satisfaction when asked about the love line with Cha Joo-young, saying, "I was touched by how well she expressed everything, from her reactions to her absorption and even the detailed parts. The director, being a representative actor and director of Korea, quickly concentrated and explained things that were difficult to understand until I got it. I think our chemistry matched well."
Meanwhile, 'Lobby' is set to premiere on April 2.
