Kim Tae-i, who was caught for suspected drunk driving, has been charged without detention in relation to 'Transit Love 2'.
On the 4th, the agency, ESTIMATE Entertainment, officially stated to OSEN, "It is true that our actor Kim Tae-i has been charged without detention for suspected drunk driving."
Previously, Kim Tae-i was caught by police for suspected drunk driving in September last year in the vicinity of Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, Seoul.
According to the agency, Kim Tae-i was waiting in a car after calling a designated driver, but had to move the vehicle at the request of a parking manager inside the building, resulting in an accident where he collided with a passing pedestrian while moving the vehicle.
In this regard, ESTIMATE Entertainment stated to OSEN, "Kim Tae-i appeared at the police station regarding the drunk driving and gave an accurate account of the situation at that time. Kim Tae-i is also deeply reflecting on the drunk driving incident," and added, "The agency also expresses its apologies for causing social controversy."
Police submitted Kim Tae-i to the prosecution on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act, and the prosecution requested additional investigation, leading police to resume the investigation.
Having been submitted to the prosecution last December, the 7th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, headed by Director General Kwon Seong-hee, charged Kim Tae-i without detention on the 20th of last month for violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc., for Specific Crimes (causing injury while driving dangerously).
Meanwhile, Kim Tae-i debuted in 2016 with the drama 'Monster' and has appeared in dramas such as 'Hospital Ship' and 'The Lady in Dignity'. He gained popularity after appearing on the TVING entertainment program 'Transit Love 2' in 2022 and is currently working as a barista and clothing brand designer.
