Rapper Sani (40, birth name Jeong San) has received a suspension of indictment for allegedly hitting a pedestrian.
According to the legal community on the 4th, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office issued a suspension of indictment on Sani, who faced charges of special injury, on the 25th of last month. A suspension of indictment means that although the charges are recognized, the suspect is not referred to trial considering various circumstances.
Sani was accused of assaulting pedestrian A on July 28th of last year at around 8:30 p.m. at the entrance of a park in Mapo District, by saying, 'Keep your bicycle straight,' while using a cellphone and other items. The police referred Sani without detention last January.
Sani's father, who was present at the scene, and A were also charged with mutual assault, but because they did not wish to pursue punishment against each other during the settlement process, the investigation was concluded at the police stage under the non-prosecution provision.
