The new special unit of the group Seventeen, Hoshi and Woozi, released part of their new song's audio, sparking excitement among fans.
Pledis Entertainment posted the trailer for Hoshi and Woozi's 1st single 'BEAM' on Seventeen's official social media at 9:06 p.m. on the 3rd. The video captures Hoshi and Woozi, who are liberated through light, along with the audio of 'PINOCCHIO (feat. So!YoON!)'.
The trailer starts with Hoshi and Woozi looking down at each other. Then, a gigantic hand appears, and the movements of dancers, seemingly controlled by the hand, fill the screen. As the music intensifies, the dance becomes more vigorous, and in a moment, as if the string controlling them has snapped, the dancers collapse simultaneously.
The background that was dominated by the gigantic hand transforms into pitch-black darkness. The dancers, who existed only as silhouettes, regain their true forms. At the peak of tension, the lyrics 'I wanna tell you' from 'PINOCCHIO (feat. So!YoON!)' and a dreamy melody flow out, and Hoshi and Woozi shine brightly, rising into the air among the dancers gathered like an egg. The image of the two enjoying freedom while holding hands brings overwhelming emotion, blended with So!YoON's husky voice. Fans are exploding with reactions to the trailer, reminiscent of a piece of artwork.
Hoshi and Woozi, who were born in 1996 and are friends of the same age, will release their 1st single 'BEAM' on the 10th at 6 p.m., stepping up as representatives of the '96 line. The new album includes not only 'PINOCCHIO (feat. So!YoON!)' but also the title track 'Same Age' and another song 'STUPID IDIOT'. The two members will be credited on all tracks, heightening expectations for their growth as artists.
Seventeen, which Hoshi and Woozi are a part of, continues to enjoy popularity in Japan. Their 4th Japanese single 'Shohikigen (消費期限/소비기한)' surprisingly topped the Oricon 'Daily Single Ranking' for two consecutive days on the 27th and 28th of last month. Released in November of last year, the album surpassed cumulative shipments of 500,000 copies within a month and received the Gold Disk 'Double Platinum' certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
