Lee Dong-hwi revealed the reason for his late decision to join the cast of 'Lobby,' bringing laughter to the audience.
On the morning of 4th, a production report for the movie 'Lobby' was held at Lotte Cinema Gunja. Present at the event were the lead actor and director Ha Jung-woo, along with Kim Eui-sung, Kang Hae-rim, Lee Dong-hwi, Park Byung-eun, Choi Si-won, Cha Joo-young, Kwak Sun-young, and Kang Mal-geum.
'Lobby' (directed by Ha Jung-woo, produced by Workhouse Company and Film Momentum, provided by Michigan Venture Capital Co. and WYSIWYG STUDIOS, distributed by SHOWBOX) tells the story of Chang-wook (Ha Jung-woo), a startup representative who only knows research, starting his first lobbying golf game to secure a government project worth 4 trillion won. Ha Jung-woo debuted as a director with his first film 'Roller Coaster' in 2013 and released his third directorial work after 10 years through 'Heo Sam-kwan' (2015).
Ha Jung-woo plays Chang-wook, a startup representative who only knows research and aims to succeed solely with technology; Park Byung-eun plays Kwang-woo, a rival company representative who secures business through lobbying; Kim Eui-sung portrays Choi, a veteran civil servant and political heavyweight; Kang Hae-rim takes on the role of Jin-pro, a professional golfer; Lee Dong-hwi plays Reporter Park, who facilitates lobbying; Choi Si-won is cast as the beloved actor Mat-tae; Cha Joo-young plays Dami, the golf club owner's wife; Kwak Sun-young acts as Director Kim, who assists Chang-wook; and Kang Mal-geum portrays Minister Cho, who has little interest in practical matters but has great ambitions.
MC Park Kyung-rim asked, "I heard Lee Eui-sung was the last to express his willingness to join the cast," to which Ha Jung-woo replied, "If Kang Hae-rim was a discovery, Lee Eui-sung sunbaenim would be a rediscovery; we talked about it among the actors." Lee Eui-sung laughed and responded, "Please stop discovering me."
When asked, "What was it like waiting since you revealed your willingness to participate late?" Ha Jung-woo replied, "If a decision is made quickly, we would move on to the next step. 'Well, I'll do it, but let's wait and see,' he said. He took that time. Still, I trusted him and waited."
Regarding the reason for the delay, Kim Eui-sung responded, "It was a guarantee issue," which drew laughter. Just as the questions seemed to be concluding, Kim Eui-sung hurriedly said, "Just kidding. (laughter) I apologize," adding, "Actually, what worried me the most was whether I could do well. The role is too significant, and I was concerned if I could bear the weight the work carried."
Meanwhile, 'Lobby' is set to be released on April 2.
