The group YOUNGPA has shared their feelings about collaborating with Taiwanese actor Cheng Ching-Hua.
YOUNGPA held a showcase to celebrate the release of their special album 'COLD' on the afternoon of the 4th at the YES24 WONDERROCK HALL in Seoul's Seodaemun District, discussing their new album.
The title track 'COLD (feat. 10CM)' talks about the temperature difference that confuses our hearts. While the distant guitar riff, reminiscent of the cold night air, unfolds over a classical boom-bap beat, YOUNGPA's musical capabilities, freely switching between vocals and rap, are fully captured. The deep voice of 10CM features, adding depth to the narrative.
In particular, the music video for 'COLD (feat. 10CM)' was shot entirely in Taiwan, directed by the famous Taiwanese director Remy Huang, featuring the rising youth star Cheng Ching-Hua as the male lead alongside YOUNGPA, creating a synergy in their acting.
The members explained about the music video, saying, "We incorporated various themes and told a story. It's about siblings abandoned by their father planning and executing revenge. We captured a storyline like a movie."
As for the female leads, Wei Yung-Cheng and Do-Eun gave passionate performances. Regarding their acting chemistry with Cheng Ching-Hua, Do-Eun noted, "It was my first time performing serious acting, so I was nervous, but Cheng Ching-Hua translated the lines into Korean while we acted together, which eased my nerves."
Wei Yung-Cheng expressed gratitude, saying, "When I heard I would be acting with Cheng Ching-Hua, I watched all the works he had appeared in before coming, and it felt like he had jumped out of the works. It was extremely cold, but he lent me a hot pack, so we shot without being cold but rather hot."
Jung Sun-Hye said, "Usually we shoot only CG or performance-oriented music videos, but it was my first time officially acting, which felt a bit awkward yet fresh, so we teased each other. It seemed like we saw YOUNGPA in a different worldview, so I watched from the viewer's perspective."
