It has been four years since the late Kim Tae-wook, the brother of actress Kim Ja-ok and a former announcer, passed away.
Kim Tae-wook died at home on March 4, 2021, at the age of 61.
Kim Tae-wook is the son of poet Kim Sang-hwa, who flourished in the cultural arts scene from the 1950s to the 1970s, and the brother of actress Kim Ja-ok. His sister, Kim Ja-ok, passed away in 2014 from lung cancer, and his death seven years later elicited sorrow.
The late Kim Tae-wook, a former announcer, began his broadcasting career in 1987 as a CBS public announcer. After passing the KBS 16th public announcer exam in 1989, he transitioned to the first batch of announcers at SBS, which was launched in 1991. While active as an SBS announcer, he served as the deputy head of the announcer team from 2014 to 2019.
Even after retirement, the late Kim Tae-wook continued to host radio shows as a freelancer, leading programs such as "News Parade," "Emergency! VJ Special," "Love Love Sunday," "Beautiful Store," "Morning Wide," and "Kim Tae-wook's Happy Morning."
