Singer-songwriter Kim Sa-wol filled the stage of 'King of Masked Singer' with a mysterious atmosphere and a distinctive voice, leaving viewers with a warm impression.
On the afternoon of Dec. 2, in the MBC variety program 'King of Masked Singer,' Bibidi Babidi Boo and Hakuna Matata competed in the first round.
The two chose IU's song 'This Ending.' After the performance, there were praises for Bibidi Babidi Boo's tone, describing it as 'a dreamy charm that warms the heart and feels like dreaming.' Bibidi Babidi Boo then sang the OST 'Bibidi Babidi Boo' from Cinderella, accompanied by a guitar performance, showcasing the unique and charming tone that matched their nickname once again.
Bibidi Babidi Boo revealed their identity during the following solo stage, and the person who emerged from the mask was folk musician Kim Sa-wol, who has won five trophies at the Korean Popular Music Awards since 2014. Kim Sa-wol presented a stage reinterpreting Song Chang-sik's 'It's Love' in a unique style. Judge Shin Hyo-bum commented, 'The musical interpretation was exceptional, and it has a unique emotion that you want to hear over and over again.'
While explaining the reason for choosing 'It's Love,' Kim Sa-wol noted, 'I realized the power of a beautiful song once again, and I want to create such songs myself.'
Kim Sa-wol has recently been nominated for Best Folk Album at the 22nd Korean Popular Music Awards with her fourth album 'Default,' and she is gearing up for her solo concert and brand performance 'The 12th Kim Sa-wol Show: Susan' next month at Baegam Art Hall, pushing forward her activities in 2025.
