As Jeon Hye-jin asked Jo Min-soo to take her daughter for a ride, her daughter went missing.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, the new ENA drama "Riding Life" (directed by Kim Cheol-kyu/written by Sung Yoon-ah and Jo Won-dong/planned by KT Studio Genie/produced by Betty & Creators) aired, showcasing Lee Jeong-eun's (played by Jeon Hye-jin) struggles to enroll her daughter in Myeongseong Elementary School.
That day, Lee Jeong-eun woke up early in the morning and set out for an open run at a bookstore. She attempted to buy level books for admission to Myeongseong Elementary School and tried to pretend to be familiar with other parents she met for the first time, but the books were sold out right in front of her. Eventually, while on her way to work, Jeong-eun had a minor car accident in the parking lot and, having no issues, was about to pass by when she spotted a level book left in the passenger seat of the perpetrator's car and clutched her waist and neck. Ultimately, she confidently acquired the level book with a smile.
In this way, the competition is fierce in Daechidong, not just among students but also among parents, as Jeong-eun is willing to go for an open run for level books. Song Ho-gyeong (played by Park Bo-gyeong), the mother of Tommy, who boasts top class at the academy attended by Seo-yoon (played by Kim Sa-rang), also showcased remarkable information power at a gathering with mothers.
"As the grade increases, exams are a race against time. You must have heard that saving 30 seconds on an English essay means Ivy League, and saving 10 seconds means SKY. To save those few dozen seconds, cursive writing practice is essential from a young age. Our Tommy has been tutored since he was 3 years old," Ho-gyeong said.
Meanwhile, Jeong-eun faced pressure to resign from her mother-in-law. Upon heading to the restaurant run by her mother-in-law for a ritual, Shin (played by Yang Hye-jin) scolded Jeong-eun, saying, "How happy must the child be to welcome her mother, who she sees every day, like that?" Her husband Jaeman (played by Jeon Seok-ho) said, "Jeong-eun, did you come from having fun? I came from work. I was up all night peeling the trees, and I cooked all the meat and fish. I grilled nearly everything, so there's nothing to do. It's okay."
As the atmosphere grew tense, Jeong-eun took out the level book she had found in the morning and bragged to her daughter Seo-yoon, "Didn't I say I would definitely get this? You must study with this to go to Myeongseong Elementary School. You said you wanted to be a doctor, right?"
Seo-yoon asked, "Did I say that? Mom, can't I just be a princess?" And Jeong-eun replied, "No, you can't. Because Dad is a company employee, a princess isn't possible." When Seo-yoon said, "Then I'll be a boss. I want to be a boss," Jeong-eun emphasized, "You can be, but the boss must graduate from Korea University. To go to Korea University, you must first go to Myeongseong Elementary School." Upon hearing this, Seo-yoon teased, "Then did grandma also graduate from Korea University?" eliciting laughter.
Watching this, Jeong-eun's mother-in-law remarked, "You're starting school next year, one of you should stay home. How long will you leave the child in someone else's hands?" Jaeman replied, "Oh, mom. How much does the sitter love our Seo-yoon?"
On the way home, Jaeman said, "Why is the fire so hot? Telling you to quit a well-going company?" Jeong-eun emphasized, "Mother said it's one of the two."
Jaeman responded, "Mom means you… doesn't she?" Jeong-eun then asked, "Ah, so if I quit, that's it? Is your salary enough to cover our living expenses, Seo-yoon's academy fees, and sitter fees?"
Jaeman cooed, "Jeong-eun, we need your salary." He remarked, "What's wrong with mom? I can't let her nag next time." Jeong-eun couldn't hide her frustration and said, "You should close your mouth in front of your mother. That helps me."
As another day like any other began, the sitter who was helping Seo-yoon with her commute disappeared with a message, and Jeong-eun hurriedly assisted Seo-yoon with her riding. While rushing down the blocked road, Seo-yoon discovered Jeong-eun's mother, Jia (played by Jo Min-soo), working at a hospital, and Jeong-eun urgently asked Jia to take care of Seo-yoon's riding.
In the midst of the panic, while on her way to care for Seo-yoon, Jia suddenly encountered a patient entering the hospital and told Seo-yoon, "Just wait here for a moment," before rushing into the emergency room. After managing the situation, Jia returned, only to find Seo-yoon missing, and in a hurried phone call, Seo-yoon revealed, "I'm taking a taxi to the academy because I'm afraid I'll be late."
However, Seo-yoon did not arrive at the academy, and upon receiving a call from the academy, Jeong-eun urgently began searching for Seo-yoon. At this moment, Seo-yoon was at the police station with the police's help, and seeing this, Jeong-eun resolved to resign to ensure Seo-yoon's safety. She couldn't put the child in danger again.
Afterward, upon arriving late at the police station, Jeong-eun told Jia, "How urgent must it have been for you to abandon a child on the street? I asked you for this, how could you do this? Am I just a stranger? No, I have always been lesser than others. Even if that happened to me, it shouldn't happen to our Seo-yoon," and said, "From now on, I won't leave Seo-yoon with others. I will quit my job."
In response, Jia expressed her anger, "Quit your job? Because of a mere academy?" Jeong-eun replied, "Thinking about how scared our Seo-yoon must have been alone. I won't leave her alone. I will take care of it." Ultimately, Jia reassured her, "I will look after Seo-yoon. Don't be unnecessarily stubborn; I will take Seo-yoon home. I'll take a half day off from the hospital and handle it myself. You quickly find a capable sitter or hire a new one."
