March 2, 2025, marks the 8th anniversary of Min-wook's passing. He died on March 2, 2017, while battling head and neck cancer, at the age of 70.
Min-wook was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in 2015. Head and neck cancer occurs in areas such as the maxilla, oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx. Despite undergoing treatment for over two years, he ultimately passed away, which elicited sadness.
After graduating from Seorabeol University of Arts with a degree in theater and film, Min-wook debuted as a KBS 8th public recruitment talent in 1969 and appeared in dramas such as "Maecheon Yurrok," "Independence Gate," "Happiness War," "Detective 25," "Cheonmyeong," "Flower Petal and New Sound," "The Thief's Wife," "We Are Middle Class," "Wind Flower Does Not Wither," "Golden Ratio," "O Yu-ran Jeon," "Men Are in Pain," "Looking at the Sky," "Tears of the Dragon," "Taejo Wang Geon," "Empire's Morning," "The Era of the Warrior," "Precious My Child," "Single Dad in Love," "The Birth of the Rich," and "Please Get Married."
Having continued his acting career for over 40 years, he had a strong affection for his work. Even until 2010, before he was diagnosed with cancer, he was actively engaged in various activities. The late actor's daughter recalled, "He always had a strong desire for acting."
