Famous American singer and actress Angie Stone has died in a car accident.
According to local entertainment outlets including Page Six and TMZ, the late Angie Stone died in a car accident while returning from a performance in Montgomery, Alabama, on the 1st.
The news was conveyed by Angie Stone's daughter, Diamond Stone, 41. She noted, "Mom has passed away." Angie's side stated that family and friends were in tremendous shock over Angie Stone's death.
Before her passing, Angie was promoting performances scheduled for February 28 in Alabama and March 1 in Baltimore. She said, "We have tours booked, and there are many things in progress that I don't want to reveal yet, but you will see a big smile on my face." The late Angie mentioned that her new plans were related to TV, movies, tours, and other artists.
She had noted, "There are many projects," but she would not be able to proceed with everything.
The late Angie Stone gained significant popularity in 1979 when she joined the female trio group The Sequence with Cheryl Cook and Gwendolyn Chisolm.
They signed with Sugar Hill Records and released several albums from 1979 to 1985. In the 1990s, Angie began her solo career and released the album "Black Diamond" in 1999. She later ventured into film, appearing in the 2002 comedy "Hot Chick" and the 2014 film "Ride Along."
Meanwhile, the late Angie Stone was also arrested in 2015 on charges of assaulting her daughter. She was accused of assaulting her daughter Diamond with a metal stand and was subsequently arrested. This assault resulted in Diamond suffering a broken front tooth.
Diamond testified to the police that her mother entered the room and demanded her to clean, and when she refused, her mother assaulted her. Stone had a past where she realized she was hitting her daughter's face with the stand during the assault, dropped it, and fled.
