The late Song Dae-kwan's final stage before his death was revealed.

The final stage of the late Song Dae-kwan, who suddenly passed away last month, was revealed during the KBS 1TV program on 'National Song Contest' broadcast on the afternoon of the 2nd.

The 2107th episode aired that day in Seoul's Yeongdeungpo District, where 17 teams that advanced to the finals performed on a special stage set up at the Yanghwa Hangang Park soccer field. Singers Yang Ji-eun, Na Sang-do, Sung Min-ji, and Lee Dae-won gave a congratulatory performance, receiving cheers from the audience.

In particular, the broadcast that day drew attention as it revealed the final stage of the late Song Dae-kwan. On that stage, Song Dae-kwan passionately performed 'My Wallet is Brother.' His signature lively speaking style and relaxed interaction with the audience drew cheers from those present. However, he appeared somewhat emaciated, which added to the sadness. Nevertheless, Song Dae-kwan gave his best on stage until the end, and the audience stood in response, offering applause.

'National Song Contest' stated, “This broadcast was recorded on October 26, 2024. We extend our condolences to the deceased.”

The late Song Dae-kwan suddenly passed away from cardiac arrest while hospitalized on the 7th of last month. He was 78 years old. Song Dae-kwan's side noted, “The teacher did not suffer from any chronic illnesses or underlying conditions. However, he was hospitalized recently due to feeling unwell. During that time, he suddenly passed away from cardiac arrest.”

The late Song Dae-kwan debuted in the music industry in 1967 with 'A Lady with Many Affections' and gained significant popularity with 'The Day the Sun Rises' released in 1975 after a long period of obscurity. He won the MBC Grand Prize for Best Singer in 1976 and was awarded in various institutional sectors including the 26th Korean Broadcast Awards and SBS Trot Awards, among others.

He then solidified his status as a national singer with hits like 'Because of Love,' 'Four Beats,' 'Popular Songs,' and 'One Train Ticket.' Especially loved as one of the 'Four Kings of Trot' alongside the late Hyun Jeol, Tae Jin-ah, and Seol Woon-do, the late Song Dae-kwan continued to show his passion for music and performance until recently.
