Actress Ha Jae-sook announced the recurrence of her epidermoid cyst and expressed feelings of depression.
On the 27th, Ha Jae-sook shared on social media that her epidermoid cyst has recurred.
She lamented, "The epidermoid cyst under my eyes keeps recurring to the point of making me depressed" and asked her followers, "Does anyone know of a good hospital for treatment?"
Epidermoid cysts (sweat gland cysts) are known to be one of the common benign tumors originating from the duct of the eccrine sweat glands. The common areas of occurrence are around the eyes, cheeks, forehead, and they appear as small, round, yellow or flesh-colored bumps about 2 to 3 mm.
It has been revealed that top star Lee Hyori could not get rid of her epidermoid cyst either.
Lee Hyori mentioned on the SBS program "Magic Eye," which aired in 2014, "It has been hereditary since elementary school, and I have an epidermoid cyst under my eyes. It doesn't affect my life. However, even with surgery, it doesn't go away, and I had laser treatment which only left scars and caused wrinkles. Since the HD era began, it's been quite concerning."
She continued, "I went to the hospital for the epidermoid cyst, and they said it's a condition many people have had for a long time. It doesn't affect life and it's not painful, so no treatment methods have been developed. However, it has become a problem for modern people, and many come in saying they want to die or that social interactions are uncomfortable. But I understand their feelings."
In addition, jokingly calling herself the goddess of the internet cafe related to epidermoid cysts, she said, "When members see someone pointing out my epidermoid cyst, they come rushing in to defend me," which brought laughter.
Meanwhile, Ha Jae-sook married Lee Jun-hyung in 2016 and is residing in Goseong, Gangwon Province. It is known that she travels back and forth between Seoul and Goseong when there are filming schedules. Ha Jae-sook is set to showcase a short-form drama titled "Detective Save Me," which consists of 50 episodes.
