Hanni drew attention on the 1st as she shared her latest status for the first time following the controversy surrounding her boyfriend Yang Jae-woong's hospital death incident.
On the 1st, Hanni posted a photo with the caption "Dharamsala" on her social media.
The disclosed photo features Hanni, who has transformed into a short haircut. Boasting a pure atmosphere, she is looking at the camera with a bright smile.
Notably, the post has drawn attention as it is the first update Hanni has shared following the controversy regarding her boyfriend Yang Jae-woong's hospital patient death incident.
Earlier, in May of last year, a woman identified as A passed away at a hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province. This hospital is known to be operated by Yang Jae-woong, and A had been hospitalized for treatment of diet drug addiction, passing away 17 days later.
The bereaved family claimed that the hospital neglected A and caused her death, and they filed a complaint against Yang Jae-woong and hospital officials on charges of involuntary manslaughter and professional negligence.
In response, two months after the incident, Yang Jae-woong said, "We cannot conceal our devastating feelings regarding the incident that occurred during the hospitalization process. I sincerely apologize to the bereaved family members who are in mourning over the loss of their loved one."
However, criticism continued, and Yang Jae-woong postponed his plans to marry Hanni, a former member of the girl group EXID, with whom he had been publicly dating since 2022, in September of last year. Hanni also stopped uploading on social media afterward and has since been absent from the entertainment scene.
However, the Bucheon Wonmi Police Station stated that they did not receive the evaluation advisory result requested from the Korean Medical Association at the end of October last year and, in January, ceased the investigation into the patient death incident involving Director Yang Jae-woong.
