Director Yang Chi-seung reflected on his difficult times.

In the program aired on the 1st, MBN's 'Talk Show Dongchimi' discussed the theme 'Born as a child, living as a parent.'

Yang Chi-seung said, "My family is like North and South. My father was a civil servant. He had a high rank. Normally, civil servants don't quit for the family, but my father is very temperamental. He quits immediately if something comes up. When he goes outside, he's too charming. He doesn't bring money home. Economically, it was tough, so my mother worked in a factory from morning until night."

He continued, "We are four siblings. My mother packed lunch for us and took good care of our meals. Whenever my father came home, the house felt like an icebox. We lived curled up, unable to breathe."

Yang Chi-seung said, "I have overcome a lot of disappointment towards my father. I wondered what I could do for my mother. It hasn’t been long since she passed away. It was in 2022. It’s been about three years. When she was alive, she often went to Cheongnyangni Market when I was on air and would talk about me. She praised me, saying, 'That's my son.' That’s what I think about the most. I didn’t do much for her, but there is a sense of pride."

Yang Chi-seung added, "My father was very violent. When I was young, I wished to be an orphan for a long time. It was too hard. Going home felt like prison. The entire family suffered too much because of the violence. The family was not a priority for him, and he invested his retirement fund in stocks. He lost it all in a year. The family gave up."
