Actress Shin Ae-ra from 'My Precious Baby' revealed that her husband Cha In-pyo installed a location tracking app out of concern for their daughter.
During the broadcast of Channel A's 'Recent Parenting - My Precious Baby' on the 28th, Shin Ae-ra discussed a story about being worried due to a location tracking app.
That day, the 'My Precious Baby' parenting problem-solving section revealed a story titled 'My second-grade son is monitoring his parents using a location tracking app.'
The writer of the story noted, 'I have been troubled because of a unique hobby that my son developed,' and stated that out of concern, they installed a location tracking app on their son's phone. The son also installed the app on his parents' phones to track them.
The writer shared that a tracking war started between their son and the couple, saying, '(My son) said he was going to the market, but why is he at the chicken shop? Dad, where are you going instead of going to work?' He monitored every move. After holding back for a long time, my husband got angry with our son, but the son replied, 'Mom, Dad is also monitoring me.' I thought about it and realized that might not have felt good for him,' the writer asked for advice on how to handle the location tracking app they started for the safety of their child.
Upon hearing the story, Shin Ae-ra said, 'I don't use tracking, but my husband (Cha In-pyo) does for our daughter. It's because I'm too anxious about sending her alone abroad. Dad said, 'Let’s do it. Then I think I will feel reassured,' and the daughter also agreed.' She added, 'My father-in-law even installed a home cam himself to keep an eye on her. He asks why he can't see what I'm doing.'
Dr. Oh Eun-young said, 'In cases where there might be a problem, it is often fortunate to have the app. The important thing is to communicate adequately about why it is installed and to have understanding. While the app can be useful in necessary situations, checking it repeatedly is an invasion of privacy. If not learned properly, it could lead to invading the privacy of close relationships.'
