Meanwhile, Jang Shin-young and Kang Kyung-joon married in 2018 after a publicly disclosed relationship lasting five years, overcoming Jang Shin-young's divorce. In December 2023, Kang Kyung-joon was implicated as an adulterer and faced a lawsuit for 50 million won in damages.
After the controversy erupted, Jang Shin-young disclosed on social media eight months later, "We endured a period of pain that was difficult to put into words, but we are trying to live together again only for the children."
