KBS2 "Immortal Songs" (directed by Park Hyung-geun, Kim Hyung-seok, Choi Seung-beom) is the country's top music variety show, maintaining its position as the undisputed number one for an impressive 107 weeks, a true "Saturday absolute champion." The 695th episode, airing today (1st), is a "Samil special - The Sound of That Day, Awakening Today!" featuring Jung Dong-ha, Kim Gi-tae, La POEM, Seodo Band X Kim Tae-yeon, Kim Dong-hyun, and ONEWE.
In the meantime, Seodo Band and Kim Tae-yeon will uniquely team up for a stage, capturing attention. MC Lee Chan-won questions how this special combination came to be, to which Seodo revealed, "We first appeared together on 'Immortal Songs' back in 2020," sharing their special 'Immortal' connection. He added, "Five years ago, she was small and cute, and I held her on my lap for photos, but now she has become a beautiful student. This time, I persuaded Tae-yeon to join me," showcasing how Kim Tae-yeon's childhood connections continue to this day.
In particular, Kim Tae-yeon stood up and surprised everyone by spontaneously performing the new song from Seodo Band live. Seodo reportedly said with a satisfied smile, "She sang our new song while coming in for the rehearsal."
Additionally, Kim Tae-yeon, who entered middle school this year, noted that she has become a direct junior of a world-renowned K-pop star. She mentioned that she enrolled in the National Traditional Arts Middle School's pansori department, saying, "G-Dragon from Big Bang is my senior. It's the middle school that G-Dragon attended."

Regarding this, the "Immortal" production team stated, "This special is commemorating the 106th anniversary of Samil Day this year, paying tribute to the noble sacrifices and dedication of the patriots, and creating a time to reflect on the significance of that day. It is anticipated to revisit the people's fervent cries for independence, which were driven by their commitment to protect the nation amid Japanese oppression through music."
