'Actor and shaman' Lee Geon-joo hinted at the possibility of meeting his father for the first time in 10 years through 'Dad and Me.'
The highly anticipated family entertainment show TV CHOSUN 'Dad and Me' is set to premiere its second season on March 11 (Tuesday) at 10 p.m. This season will feature 'Sundol' Lee Geon-joo, a former child actor from the drama 'Three Families Under One Roof' who is now walking the path of a shaman, chef Lu Ching Lai, who demonstrated the elegance of a 'Chinese cuisine master' for 50 years in 'Black and White Chef: Cooking Class War,' and his eldest son, Yeomin, who is following in his father's footsteps in Chinese cooking, generating a lot of interest.
In the meantime, Lee Geon-joo expressed the pent-up frustrations he has harbored towards his father since childhood through a teaser video for 'Dad and Me.' Introducing himself as 'an actor and shaman,' Lee Geon-joo said, "It was really difficult to talk about this on air," as he shared his first impressions. After his father left when he was 2 years old, Lee Geon-joo was raised by his aunts and grandmother, and he revealed, "The last time I saw my father was 10 years ago." He went on to confess, "My father was irresponsible and cowardly. I have received threats and financial demands from him," shocking the audience.
Lee Geon-joo also expressed his regret at not being able to enjoy a normal life with his father, such as going to the bathhouse together and eating delicious food. He mentioned the burdensome relationship with his father, saying, "Why is my father so different from other dads... Can’t he just let me be?" Throughout the discussion, he struggled to suppress his emotions, but ultimately broke down in tears, revealing, "I want to feel at peace now."
Nevertheless, Lee Geon-joo stated, "I really hate him, but on the other hand, I also think he is a very pitiful person. I hope he becomes a father whom I can respect." He concluded with the confession, "When I first see my father, will I cry or be angry... Does he really not want to see me until I die?" The teaser video ended on this note. Whether the long-awaited reunion between Lee Geon-joo and his father will actually take place can be confirmed in the second season of 'Dad and Me' on March 11 (Tuesday) at 10 p.m.
'Sundol' Lee Geon-joo and 'Chinese cuisine master' Lu Ching Lai join forces to make a more powerful comeback in TV CHOSUN 'Dad and Me' Season 2, which will air its first episode on March 11 (Tuesday) at 10 p.m.
