"Mantis" wrapped up warmly with actress Ko Hyun-jung's kind heart.
SBS's new drama "Mantis" (written by Lee Yeong-jong, directed by Byeon Yeong-joo, planned by Studio S, produced by Merry Christmas and Mega Monster) is a crime thriller depicting the collaboration between the police officer's son of a female serial killer, who brutally killed five men 20 years ago and earned the nickname "Mantis," and his mother, with whom he has harbored resentment for his entire life, to investigate the perpetrator of a case that imitates "Mantis's" crime, scheduled to be broadcast in 2025.
Ko Hyun-jung (as Jeong I-shin) and Jang Dong-yoon (as Cha Soo-yeol) lead the cast of "Mantis," which has recently completed filming. Given that Ko Hyun-jung, Jang Dong-yoon, as well as all the actors and the entire staff, including director Byeon Yeong-joo, put forth their best efforts enthusiastically during filming, it is expected that a high-quality work will emerge.
In this context, it has been reported that Ko Hyun-jung warmly decorated the end of "Mantis." Recently, Ko Hyun-jung gifted warm clothing to all the staff who had worked together for several months. As she has often expressed her special affection for the "Mantis" team through her personal social media, this gift was said to be carefully prepared by Ko Hyun-jung herself.
Ko Hyun-jung prepared fleece zip-up jumpers for the staff, who did their best in their respective positions despite the cold, and delivered them with a message of gratitude. It is reported that the atmosphere at the final filming location was also cheerful due to Ko Hyun-jung's gifts. The drama "Mantis," shot with great affection by Ko Hyun-jung, showcases her bold acting transformation. Anticipation is high for "Mantis," which announces the birth of a unique crime thriller.
In particular, it has been reported that Ko Hyun-jung voluntarily reduced her grants. Director Byeon Yeong-joo noted in an interview, "In fact, 'Mantis' does not have a sufficient budget. However, the lead actors voluntarily reduced their grants, which allowed us to rent one more piece of good equipment and do another round of music recording, but more importantly, it enabled the supporting roles to receive appropriate expense for their labor."
Meanwhile, SBS's new drama "Mantis" is scheduled to air in 2025.
