The group NewJeans opened an official social networking service (SNS) under the name 'NJZ', and Adore expressed that this action is a violation of the exclusive contract.
Members of NewJeans announced on the NJZ Instagram account on the 27th that they have opened official accounts on TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube under NJZ.
Earlier, NewJeans announced the release of a new song on March 23 and their participation in the Hong Kong ComplexCon.
In response, Adore, a label under HYBE, noted, "Adore maintains that the exclusive contract is valid and is awaiting a legal judgment on this matter," and added, "NewJeans has official SNS and YouTube, TikTok accounts for communicating with fans, and all other accounts were created without prior consultation regarding the exclusive contract."
They continued, "Posting content without going through official accounts and other entertainment activities are acts that violate the exclusive contract," and urged, "Please refrain, as this could cause confusion among fans and advertisers."
NewJeans held an emergency press conference last November and declared, "As of November 29, we will terminate our exclusive contract with Adore and will continue to engage in activities freely, away from HYBE and Adore."
Adore has filed for a provisional injunction with the court to affirm its position as the agency and to prohibit the signing of advertising contracts, stating that the exclusive contract with the members is legally valid. The provisional injunction hearing date for prohibiting the signing of advertising contracts is set for March 7, and the first pleading date for the lawsuit confirming the validity of the exclusive contract is scheduled for April 3.
