Actor Kim Nam-gil has teamed up with Seo Kyung-duk.
Tomorrow (1st), in celebration of Samil Day, Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University and actor Kim Nam-gil collaborated to release a multilingual video introducing poet and independence activist Yun Dong-ju.
This 5-minute video was produced as part of KB Kookmin Bank's 'The Great Nation Lives' campaign and is available in Korean and English, spreading widely among netizens both domestically and internationally.
The main content of the video illuminates Yun Dong-ju's life and humanity, as well as the various meanings contained in his poetry.
Above all, it delved into his 'independent spirit,' which did not waver in his thoughts about national independence, even while being arrested and tried by the Japanese colonial authorities. Notably, this year marks the 80th anniversary of his death, and the video utilized generative AI to recreate Yun Dong-ju's appearance.
Professor Seo emphasized, "It is the most important task of our generation to shed light on independence activists who are gradually being forgotten by the public and to widely share their lives through video."
He also added, "Not only on YouTube but also spreading across various social media platforms, we are sharing the video with major Korean and international student communities around the world to raise awareness."
Actor Kim Nam-gil, who took on the Korean narration, stated, "I am happy to introduce Yun Dong-ju's life through my voice and hope many netizens at home and abroad will watch it."
