On the occasion of KBS's 52nd anniversary of public service, participants from KBS's representative programs gathered for 'Our Language Competition.' Reflecting on the KBS broadcasts that have brought laughter and emotion to viewers over the past 52 years, they will have a special time to review the beautiful Korean language that is imbued within.
In the broadcast of KBS1 'Our Language Competition' airing on the 3rd, participants from KBS's representative programs gathered to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of KBS public service, including KBS drama, 'Morning Forum,' '6 O'Clock My Hometown,' and 'Vibrant Information.'
First, as the representative of the drama sector, actress Lee Jae-eun, who debuted at the age of 5 in the 1985 KBS drama 'Equatorial Line' and is now marking 40 years in her acting career, threw down the gauntlet. In response, singer Kim Soo-chan, chosen as the first celebrity host in the history of 'Morning Forum' after 34 years, will be competing. Joining them are comedian Son Heon-soo, who has been active as a youth president on '6 O'Clock My Hometown' for seven years, and Elodie, a vibrant reporter from KBS2TV's 'Vibrant Information.' Who will be the first to gain the upper hand in this fierce competition that stakes the honor of each program?
As expected from the founding planning of the public service, the problems were also enriched with special videos featuring a glamorous cast. From singer Kim Jong-min, who has been brightening '1 Night 2 Days' for 18 years, to Lee Chan-won, the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards winner, and the first celebrity 'Honorary Master of Language' in 'Our Language Competition,' actress Samija, as well as judges Lee Ho-seob from 'National Singing Contest' and announcers Lee Ji-yeon, Lee Gye-jin, and Son Beom-soo, who have shone on KBS. Seven broadcasters, who have received much love from viewers through KBS, made surprise appearances as problem creators in the video, shocking the challengers in the studio.
Along with this, a total of 15 KBS broadcasts, from the early days of KBS public service to recent times, appeared as problem videos, providing a time to revisit the correct and beautiful Korean language within KBS broadcasts.
Based on the experience of memorizing countless drama scripts, actress Lee Jae-eun showed strong confidence in Korean. Comedian Son Heon-soo, who achieved the disappointing result of second place in both of his challenges on 'Our Language Competition,' continued his heated revenge throughout the recording while making the recording studio laugh with his dazzling wit. Kim Soo-chan also showcased his cleverness, answering music questions with impersonations, as befits a representative singer from 'National Singing Contest.'
Elodie, the only foreign contestant, showed remarkable skill, and like the representatives of KBS broadcasts, not only did their Korean language skills shine, but their outstanding wit also led to fluctuating scores. As the competition became unpredictable, a remarkable surprise occurred at the end of the fierce competition. Who was the unexpected protagonist of this surprise?
'Our Language Competition,' a special program for the 52nd anniversary of public service featuring four contestants, seven problem creators, and 15 KBS videos, will be broadcast on March 3, 2025, Monday, from 7:25 p.m. for 65 minutes on KBS 1TV.
