Sung Hae-eun from 'Transfer Love 2' confessed to having a poverty complex.
On the 26th, a new video titled "It's not easy... A vlog of unboxing packages all day long" was uploaded to Sung Hae-eun's YouTube channel, 'Happy Hae-eun.'
On this day, Sung Hae-eun shared his thoughts after finishing the organization of his new home, which had just received furniture.
He said, "In fact, shooting videos and taking pictures at home like this was the vision I had dreamed of. However, because the house is not nice, I wanted to receive gifts and take photos, but the background behind me made it impossible to do so. So, I have memories of not being able to take any pictures at all, and when someone would offer to take me home, I would wave my hands and say it was fine. For that reason, I had a complex about my home. Broadly speaking, a poverty complex, I guess."
Sung Hae-eun recalled, "I felt苦痛 while watching the movie 'Parasite.' It felt like it was prying into my heart. When it rains, it leaks, there's mold, and clothes don't dry. I lived with that complex. I lived in a semi-basement for a long time, and it was normal to see cockroaches, not to mention I have seen tarantulas, not just spiders but Spider-Man spiders."
He continued, "I lived with pests. Since I didn't have a bed, they would be next to me when I opened my eyes, and thus I see bugs more than others. A friend said, 'You don't seem afraid of bugs.' And I replied, 'I lived with bugs since I was young. I should have caught them.' Then the person felt awkward. It wasn't something I said to make them feel awkward, it was just how I was shaped by that experience. Aren't I allowed to just scream?"
He remarked, "I think that experience shaped me. Since my personality is bright and cheerful, perhaps people can't imagine I lived in such poverty. I've always been thinking, 'I shouldn't let others see that I'm poor.' So, I worked harder, learned, and tried to appear like I didn't know things."
Additionally, Sung Hae-eun said, "While I can't say poverty is good, I think it has helped shape me into a solid person. Haven't I ended up being able to live in a really nice house? I have nothing more to ask for. First of all, I am grateful and happy just to be able to live alone and have come up from ground level."
Meanwhile, Sung Hae-eun has granted in the TVING original 'Transfer Love 2,' becoming a final couple with Jeong Hyun-kyu. Since then, he has been actively working as an influencer across platforms such as broadcasting and YouTube.
