'ALL OF ME' is an album that encapsulates everything about Hwang Chi Yeol, as the title suggests. Participating in the production and songwriting of all tracks, the following is a Q&A with Hwang Chi Yeol, who has returned with the third full-length album 'ALL OF ME.'
Q. This is your first full-length album in about six years. It must feel special, right?
A. The significance of a full-length album as a singer feels extraordinary. I found myself paying much more attention to elements such as the music video and song arrangements from the concept planning stage. I am excited and somewhat nervous about how the fans will receive it this time.
Q. Is there a special reason for selecting 'It may sound funny' as the title track?
A. It took a lot of consideration to decide on a band-sound-centered song as the title track, but I became ambitious and made the bold decision. The biggest reason was that I wanted to try a new challenge.
Q. You participated in the production and songwriting of all tracks. What was the main focus during the work?
A. I wanted to express the joys and sorrows that can be felt in everyday life. I aimed to create an album that not only resonates deeply with themes like separation, love, and comfort but also replenishes emotions, focusing on that aspect the most.
Q. You appeared in the music video for 'It may sound funny'; were there any memorable filming episodes?
A. I had to act out sad emotions while eating a bagel, and the bagel was really delicious. I remember that during multiple takes of the same scene, I kept finding the bagel so tasty that I ended up messing up quite a few takes. (laughs)
Q. What does 'ALL OF ME' mean to you, Hwang Chi Yeol?
A. 'My everything.' In other words, I would define it as an album that embodies all of Hwang Chi Yeol. I believe I dedicated all my abilities to convey as many emotions as possible in the album, and I feel that I have grown a step further as well.
Q. Please say a word to the fans who have been waiting for your full-length album for a long time.
A. Our fans, I am really happy to greet you again with a full-length album after such a long time. I believe the best way for me to repay your support is to provide you with good music and impressive performances. I hope everyone's everyday life becomes more colorful through my album. Thank you.
