In the recent episode of 'Current Men’s Life: Husband School,' Shim Hyung-tak revealed his determination as a father after completing the birth registration of his son, Ha-ru.
The episode aired on the 26th on Channel A, featuring the dance date of Kim Il-woo and Park Sun-young, along with the postpartum care of Shim Hyung-tak and his wife, Saya.
Kim Il-woo couldn’t take his eyes off Park Sun-young, who showed up wearing a striking leopard print skirt. He prepared milk tea for Park Sun-young, who cannot drink coffee, impressing her at once, but he did face criticism for using his opposite hand while tying her belt.
While in the car, they engaged in a warm conversation. Park Sun-young asked, “Isn’t there some physical contact? The intensity seemed quite high. Are you okay with that? Your face is getting redder,” hinting at today’s date course. Their date was all about 'dance.'
Kim Il-woo complimented, “I think Sun-young will look great. When we went to Jongno, didn’t we take photos in 1920s-1930s outfits? Sun-young looked amazing then. I think she will also look great today.” He added, “I majored in theater and film in college. I took dance classes within the university. I also participated in the college dance festival,” raising expectations. Later, as they went to choose their dance costumes, Kim Il-woo and Park Sun-young sparked excitement.
Shim Hyung-tak cradled his long-awaited son, Ha-ru. He stated, “Saya endured 12 hours of labor,” and noted, “The nurse mentioned that my wife is incredible. She managed to hold back her cries of pain,” sharing about Saya’s hardships.
Shim Hyung-tak said, “Saya, you endured a lot. It must have been even harder with a growing baby, right? You’ve worked really hard,” as he continued to embrace Saya. The distinctive features of his son, Ha-ru, caught attention, looking unusually refined for a newborn. Shim Jin-hwa praised, “He somewhat resembles BTS's Jungkook more than his father,” while Lee Da-hae remarked, “He is really pretty.” To this, Shim Hyung-tak expressed, "I truly hope so," revealing his yearning.
Afterward, Shim Hyung-tak left with Saya and the baby at the postpartum care center. Moon Se-yoon joked, “Aren’t you off for two weeks of paradise?” Shim Hyung-tak visited the administrative welfare center for the birth registration. He mentioned, “There’s a fine if the registration is delayed over 30 days. Also, if parents do not go in person, they cannot receive the benefits provided by the nation all at once,” while carefully writing down the names and Chinese characters of his wife and child. He also made everyone laugh by misspelling his middle name.
Having truly become a family, Shim Hyung-tak returned to take care of Ha-ru while Saya went for postpartum massage. Shim Hyung-tak said, “Mom told me not to touch like this, but I just want to take a quick look,” unable to contain his affection for his beloved son’s hands.
Shim Hyung-tak shared, “I was napping at the hospital, then at home, when Saya sent me a message. She said, 'Now that you have me and the baby, you can live with a little more ease.' I really liked that message. I thought I needed to become a stronger father for Ha-ru, and it made my head spin, but my wife’s words made me melt,” conveying his happy emotions.
