(Following Interview 1) Actor Chin Young from 'The Girl We Liked at That Time' shared behind-the-scenes stories about the kissing scene.
On the 27th, an interview with the lead actor Chin Young of the film 'The Girl We Liked at That Time' (hereinafter referred to as 'That Time') was held at a cafe in Palpan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The film 'The Girl We Liked at That Time', based on a Taiwanese movie of the same name (adaptation director Jo Young-myeong, provided by Film Company Take, produced by Film Company Take and Free Road Pictures, and distributed by WYSIWYG STUDIOS and CJ CGV), tells the story of 'Jinwoo' (Chin Young), a foolish young man who spent countless days before confessing his love to 'Sunah' (Dahyun) during his first love at eighteen.
On that day, Chin Young shared behind-the-scenes stories about the same-sex kissing scene and the kissing scene with Dahyun. He first confessed about the same-sex kissing scene with Son Woohyun, saying, "Actually, it was my first time shooting a kissing scene like that. I was really nervous. The feelings and sensations were something I had never experienced before. Usually, the most nerve-wracking part is not having experienced it before we start. Woohyun and I were waiting together, and we both kept sighing. We were both deep in thought about how to proceed with the scene."
He continued, "Before shooting, Woohyun comforted me. 'It's okay, it'll pass soon.' When we actually filmed it, the scene turned out more intense than expected. I took the lead in the kiss, and he seemed a bit flustered. That's when I started to comfort him a bit. 'Are you okay?' I asked. He replied, 'It's more intense than I thought!'" He added, "(Woohyun) has very full lips. He had prepared a lot for his lips. I was a bit surprised. I can't express what this feeling is. I just did it while thinking, 'This is work,' with my eyes closed. After it was over, I felt like it was nothing."
Regarding the kissing scene with Dahyun, he said, "The kissing scene with Dahyun came after filming the same-sex kissing scene. So I felt a lot more relaxed and was able to approach it more comfortably. Dahyun also said it was her first kiss scene. She was extremely nervous. I tried to make her as comfortable as possible."
He stated, "I told Dahyun, 'It'll pass soon. Don't worry.' I thought that feeling I experienced before the same-sex kiss would be similar to what she was feeling. When I think about my first kiss scene, I remember thinking, 'How do I do this?' Technically, we're doing this for work, but the lead-up to it is hard. It's really tough, and you wonder, 'Does this even make sense?' But once you do it, it gets easier. Knowing that it could be fine afterward, I told her that it would be okay."
In particular, when asked, 'Were you not worried about Dahyun's fandom?' he chuckled, saying, "Since I have fans too..." but added, "I was actually worried. However, I thought that Dahyun's fans might be generous and understanding. I mentioned my concerns to her, and she reassured me, saying, 'Our fans are cool and great people, so it should be fine.'"
