The transformation of Chu So-jeong, who will showcase a unique charm in 'Heosikdang,' has been revealed through its first stills.
The new drama 'Heosikdang' (written by Seong So-hyeon, directed by Oh Hwan-min and Kim Kyung-eun) is a fantasy comedy romance drama about the problematic figure Heo Gyun from the Joseon Dynasty who finds himself running a restaurant in modern times 400 years later. This drama is based on the web novel of the same name by Jeon Sun-young.
Chu So-jeong plays the role of Bong Eun-sil, the daughter of a restaurant with no signboard. Seeing injustice, Eun-sil's emotions often overshadow her reason; she is a relentless realist yet a soft and warm embodiment of 'externally strong, internally gentle.' Additionally, she is a character with a K-personality whose temper demands that facts be spoken aloud, viewing Heo Gyun (Siu-min), who appears in front of her mother's restaurant, as an eyesore, leading to a complicated relationship.
In stills released on the 27th, Chu So-jeong captures attention by showcasing the diverse aspects of her character. Dressed neatly, Eun-sil flashes a bright smile at the other person while also displaying a look filled with excitement and eagerness, vividly demonstrating her own lively and assertive strides.
Moreover, Eun-sil's flustered appearance as she takes over the shop in place of her mother evokes curiosity about her dynamic backstory. As Eun-sil becomes the breadwinner due to her mother's absence, she confronts numerous crises and hardships, gradually discovering an inner self she was unaware of.
In addition, much attention is focused on how Eun-sil's relationship with Heo Gyun, with whom she will clash frequently, will unfold, as well as the fresh chemistry between Chu So-jeong and Siu-min. Chu So-jeong is expected to portray a delightful narrative with Siu-min, depicting a culinary chemistry that transcends time. Expectations for her performance, which will lead the drama with diverse charms, are higher than ever.
Meanwhile, 'Heosikdang' is jointly planned by Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures and Corpus Japan and is set to premiere on March 24.
