Hong Hwa-yeon from 'Treasure Island' made a strong impression on television by delivering a surprising twist.

Hong Hwa-yeon portrayed the role of Yeo Eun-nam, the granddaughter of the chairman of Daesan Group, showing a passionate performance that shook the core of the drama in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Treasure Island' (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-gyu, produced by Studio S, A2Z Entertainment, Purmir Workshop), which premiered last week.

In this episode, Eun-nam, who hinted at a deep relationship with Seo Dong-joo (played by Park Hyung-sik), suddenly announced her marriage to Yeom Jang-seon (played by Heo Joon-ho), delivering a shocking twist. Eun-nam, who had been sending warm gazes to Dong-joo, turned cold at the announcement and revealed her hidden darker side.

Yeo Eun-nam expressed her hidden lingering sentiment and regrets with just her eyes and expressions, revealing her complex inner self. When she locked eyes with Seo Dong-joo at the wedding venue, she conveyed the mixed feelings of love-hate and sorrow, enhancing the drama's immersion.

Hong Hwa-yeon, who added depth to her character with a solid performance not typical of a newcomer, captured the audience's hearts by drawing deep emotional lines through intense romantic acting with Park Hyung-sik. Additionally, she convincingly unravelled the complex narrative of her character, who harbors hatred and a desire for revenge toward her stepfather Lee Hae-Young, earning critical acclaim.

From the beginning of the drama, Hong Hwa-yeon perfectly portrayed a multifaceted character, not just a simple villain, who embodies love, betrayal, conflict, and regret. Expectations are growing for the acting variations she will showcase through Eun-nam's secretive narrative.

Meanwhile, 'Treasure Island,' featuring Hong Hwa-yeon, airs every Friday night at 10 p.m. and Saturday night at 9:50 p.m.
