On the 27th, an interview with actor Chin Young, the lead in the movie 'The Girl We Liked Back Then' (hereinafter 'That Period'), was held at a café in Palpan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Based on the Taiwanese film of the same name, 'The Girl We Liked Back Then' (screenplay director Jo Young-myung, provided by Take Film Co., Ltd., produced by Take Film Co., Ltd. and JAYRO Pictures Co., Ltd., distributed by WYSIWYG STUDIOS and CJ CGV) tells the story of the eighteen-year-old first love of 'Jinwoo' (Chin Young), who spent countless days before confessing to 'Seona' (Dahyun).
That day, Chin Young shared his first love story when asked, 'Did your actual first love come to mind while filming?' saying, "It did come to mind."
He began, "If I think of my first love, there was one in the sixth grade of elementary school and one in my first year of high school. When everyone thinks of their first love in sixth grade, they might say, 'Oh, come on.' But I really believe that was my first love. Those feelings were very strong, and a lot of memories remain. Looking back at that time, there were many similarities to the current Jinwoo."
He continued, "She was a friend who transferred from Seoul, and I fell for her at first sight. I really wanted to get close, but I couldn't talk when I was in front of her. Somehow, we became friends on BuddyBuddy, and we could talk very well like close friends there. But then I would end up not being able to greet her when we met the next day. After returning home, we could chat very well. I even asked to date through a messenger. But after we started dating, I still couldn't greet her," making everyone laugh.
He added, "In the end, a friend couldn't stand it and suggested we go out for pork cutlet, so we did. But the funnier thing is, I couldn't even say I wanted to break up. It felt like we drifted apart. We never even went on a proper date. That time, having a meal with my friend was it," and he laughed, saying, "At first, I didn't understand why Jinwoo acted that way. I thought, 'If you like her, just say so!' But thinking back to my childhood, I can really empathize that it could be like that."
