Anchor Kang Seung-hwa discussed the rumors about the MC change for 'TV Show Genuine Goods.'
A press conference for KBS1's 'TV Show Genuine Goods' (hereinafter referred to as Genuine Goods) was held on the 27th at the KBS International Conference Room in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
'Genuine Goods' is a high art appraisal program that explores genuine and high-quality items buried over time, providing the joy of learning and the pleasure of realization, while confirming the true value of our antique art through the keen eyes of professional appraisers. Having first aired on March 5, 1995, 'Genuine Goods' is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and plans to captivate viewers with new changes.
Previously, according to the KBS Producers Association, the producers of the Documentary Center received instructions from the management that 'programs with hosts having more than five years of experience will be required to change hosts without exception,' and a specific schedule was provided, indicating that new hosts will be introduced on March 3, KBS's founding anniversary.
In response, Anchor Kang Seung-hwa stated, "I think the MC can be changed at any time. The reason why this issue about the MC change made headlines and led to various discussions was because it was hard for the viewers to understand. I thought the logic of 'I've been here for a long time, so I will leave' or 'the term is five years' was something that was hard to accept. While I am here, I don't want to leave because of periods or such reasons. I can step down whenever there is a true need for change or when the program suffers. There may be personal dissatisfaction with the company's decisions, but it hasn’t been visibly expressed."
As it celebrates its 30th anniversary, 'Genuine Goods' will air every Sunday at 10:55 a.m.
