The girl group GENBLUE has officially declared its entry into the fierce competition of fifth-generation girl groups and has completed preparations to soar confidently.
The agency Ten Entertainment announced the release of GENBLUE's first mini-album 'ACT LIKE THAT' on March 6.
They won the final in Taiwan's popular audition program 'NEXT GIRLZ' and debuted officially in Korea in September with 'COCOCO', and received the 'K-POP Rookie of the Year' award at the 32nd Korea Entertainment Awards, contributing to the expansion of K-POP's reach.
The team name 'GENBLUE' combines 'Generation' and 'Blue', which evokes images of the sky and sea, symbolizing infinite possibilities and expressing the aspiration to become icons of a new era who never stop challenging themselves.
GENBLUE consists of six girls who won the survival competition. The leader XXIN is a versatile character skilled in everything from dance to rap, recognized for her dance skills by legendary dancer Jay Black and has a history of filming challenges together. The group also includes AYEON, the only Korean member and a talented main vocalist; YUAN, the main vocalist known for her outstanding vocal and guitar skills with the nickname 'super idol'; LILI, a sub-rapper and TikTok star with a million followers representing Gen Z; AYAKO, a sub-vocalist armed with charming wit; and NICO, the visual and youngest member with an innocent appearance but a surprising charisma, known for her shooting skills.
Their first mini-album 'ACT LIKE THAT' will include the title track 'ACT LIKE THAT' along with three other songs: 'OH!', 'SLOW DOWN', and 'It Seems Spring Is Coming'. In particular, the title track 'ACT LIKE THAT' is a pop dance song featuring a fast rhythm with provocative and addictive sounds, embodying a message of determination to soar confidently without being conscious of the surroundings, just as they have done so far.
Meanwhile, GENBLUE's first mini-album 'ACT LIKE THAT' is set to be released on March 6 at 6 p.m. on various streaming sites. It can be previewed today (27th) through a highlight medley on the official social media.
