"Lend" Lee Kyung-kyu showcased his wit on "Radio Show."
On the morning of the 27th, Lee Kyung-kyu appeared as a guest on KBS Radio's "Park Myung-soo's Radio Show (abbreviated as Radio Show)." That day, he talked about his essay "A Perfect Joke Called Life."
Lee Kyung-kyu stated about the book, "If life only has happiness, it is not a happy life. The wind from a fan is not cooler than the wind from nature. Because you know when the wind is coming. The wind from nature is unpredictable, just like our lives. That's what makes it beautiful. Comedy is beautiful because life has its joys and sorrows, life and death."
He added, "I was happiest when 'Kkokkomyeon' ramen was a huge hit. It was better than a hidden camera. Reactions were overwhelming. (Money) was pouring in," which elicited more laughs. Regarding the source of these ideas, Lee Kyung-kyu noted, "It's passion. I can't stay still. There's a book next to my bed. One is titled 'You Die If You Lie Down' and the other is 'Always Get Out of the House.'"
He also expressed confidence about his health, saying, "I had an examination not long ago, focusing on the brain. My frontal lobe scored 90 out of 100. My bone density is very good. They say my chances of dementia are almost zero. However, my blood vessels are not good, and I have a bit of diabetes. A healthy level of glycated hemoglobin should be around 5.8, but it has risen to 6.8%. Yet, I was happiest when it was 6.8. I could eat everything and live freely. When the quality of life was good, there was no joy in life. I tried to process all of those experiences into a book."
Lee Kyung-kyu shared insights about another joy in life, filmmaking, stating, "I collaborate on films with friends rather than professionals. My friends advised me to invest in cultural projects instead of pointless stocks, so I'm doing this. It's difficult. It's not professional. It doesn't relate to the economy. The film market in our country is improving. All the films released during the New Year have surpassed the break-even point. Everything will go well. In the future, even more. My film will be released next year, after being produced in the fall. Nowadays, preparation takes a long time, so it's entirely possible." He then expressed his confidence, adding, "Bong Joon-ho is a junior director. You can call him Director Bong. He's a junior. Director Park is also all juniors."
Nonetheless, Lee Kyung-kyu remarked, "I created a no-guest list. Former soccer player Ahn Jung-hwan, restaurant representative Baek Jong-won, producer Na Young-seok, producer Kim Tae-ho, models Joo Woo-jae and Lee Hyun-yi, former announcer Kim Dae-ho, Kim Sung-joo, Jang Sung-kyu, and actors Lee Seo-jin and Jung Yu-mi, among others," and scolded, "Everyone should focus on their own jobs," adding, "I heard Kim Dae-ho left MBC, but he should return." This drew laughter.
However, he noted, "Jeon Hyun-moo was on that list, but he appeared on my YouTube channel recently. In fact, it's both a no-guest list and a request for him to appear on my program," he added. Finally, he emphasized to Park Myung-soo, "We are the last remaining entertainers. Let's do our best until the end."
